A 349% Week, and the Board Still Won't Call It a Buy
Four alt-art HOLDs more than doubled or tripled this week, but only one card on today's board earned a green light.
If you only looked at percentages today, you'd think the board had gone mad. Mr. 1 (Daz.Bonez), the alt art from EB01, is up 349.4% this week and 334.8% over the last month. It now sits at A$15.05. And the stamp next to it reads HOLD.
That's not a typo and it's not our system missing something. This is the overheating discipline doing exactly what it's built to do. Vertical, near-parabolic runs like this one get excluded from the buy signals even when the raw number is the biggest on the board, because chasing a card that's already tripled has historically been a losing bet in this market. Room to run below a prior peak matters more than raw momentum, and a card that's just gone up 3.5x in a month doesn't have much room left by definition.

Mr.3 (Galdino) OP09-056 isn't far behind, up 256.4% weekly and 187.3% over 30 days to A$20.97, another HOLD despite the fireworks.
Rob Lucci's alt art from EB04 climbed 207% this week and 223.4% over the month, now A$28.82, same story: big number, no green light.
Crocodile's OP09-046 alt art rounds out the overheated cluster, up 168.3% weekly to A$18.11.

That one carries an ACCUMULATE stamp today, our system's read that there's still room before it hits resistance. Historically, cards earning that tag have traded higher four weeks out roughly three times out of four, with an average gain in the high teens. The lesson isn't that the huge gainers are fake, it's that a slower, steadier climb is often the one worth trusting.
What we're watching
None of today's board movers has a scheduled catalyst behind them, at least not one on our calendar. The five cards above are moving on price action and completed sales, not on upcoming events. The next date worth flagging is the Treasure Cup in Gatineau, QC on September 27, a North American tournament feeding into the ongoing OP17-format results pool. It isn't tied to any of today's featured cards, but tournament weekends like this one are worth watching for knock-on demand in whichever singles show up on camera. Further out, the EB-05 Extra Booster is pencilled in for October 30 in English, and like every extra booster before it, it will introduce a fresh run of chase alt-arts that will compete for collector budget with the older EB and OP09 alt-arts sitting near the top of today's board.
Big weeks don't always mean it's time to buy. Sometimes they just mean it's time to watch.
