A 37-Fold Weekly Spike, and Why Four Sales Do Not Make a Trend
Charlotte Smoothie jumped roughly 3,726% in a week on just four sales. Today we separate the moves with real volume behind them from the ones without.
Some days the market hands you a number that does not look real. Charlotte Smoothie (CS 26-27 Event Pack Finalist Ver, P-090) is sitting at A$27.00 after a 7-day move of roughly 3,726%. Read that twice. It is not a typo, but it is also not a trend. The card's recorded price was US$0.49 through the first days of October, then reset to US$18.75 on 6 October, backed by just four sales in the last 30 days. That is a thin-supply promo card finding its first real price, and the Ledger keeps it on HOLD for exactly that reason. A vertical line on a chart with four sales behind it tells you very little about what comes next.
Today's top moves
The more useful story sits in cards with real trading behind them. Monkey.D.Luffy (OP05-119) is up 142.9% over 7 days and 151.0% over 30, now at A$33.54, on 730 sales in the last month. Plenty of volume, a loud chart, and still a HOLD.
Shakuyaku (OP12-006) from the Best Selection Vol. 5 collection has climbed 139.9% this week and 217.0% over the month to A$17.76, with 332 sales in 30 days. Another case where the move is well supported by activity, and the board is watching rather than chasing.
Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (Bentham) from OP16 (OP16-055) rounds out the mid-priced group, up 69.2% this week and 129.5% over 30 days to A$16.13, backed by 838 sales. Also HOLD.
Then there is Marco (OP08-002), the only card in this set carrying an ACCUMULATE stamp. It is up 45.1% on the week and 60.2% over the month to A$2,160.30. That stamp means it cleared our room-to-run test, but a fair reading needs the caveat: it sits in liquidity tier C with a single recorded sale in 30 days. Thin cards like this can look steady because few people are transacting, not because lots of buyers agree on the price. The stamp is a signal about the data, not a promise about the card.
What separates the cards
Put these side by side and a pattern shows. Luffy, Shakuyaku and Kurei each have hundreds of sales behind their moves, so the percentages describe a market. Smoothie and Marco have a handful of sales or fewer, so the percentages describe a few transactions. Same big numbers, very different reliability. The Ledger's liquidity tiers exist to make that difference visible, and today they do a lot of the explaining.
What we're watching
Whether Smoothie holds anywhere near A$27.00 once more than four sales have cleared. Whether Luffy OP05-119 and Shakuyaku keep their volume as the spike ages, since those are the two moves with the deepest support. And whether Marco picks up any additional recorded sales, which would tell us if the ACCUMULATE stamp is resting on a real market or a quiet one.
That is the pulse for today, back tomorrow with more.
