A Best Selection Card Triples, and the Board Still Says Hold
Shakuyaku's Best Selection print is up 162% on the week and 245% on the month, yet the Ledger's verdict is HOLD. Here is why a loud chart and a quiet stamp can both be right.
Shakuyaku from the Premium Card Collection Best Selection Vol. 5 is the card at the top of today's board. It is up roughly 162% over the past week and 245% over the past month, sitting at about A$19.24 with A-grade liquidity and 322 sales in the last 30 days. Those are the kind of numbers that make people reach for the buy button. Our board still says HOLD, and that gap between a loud chart and a quiet verdict is the interesting part of today.
Why a big run can still read HOLD
The Ledger does not rank cards on weekly percentage alone. It also checks whether a run looks too vertical and how much room is left relative to where the card has traded before. A card that has more than tripled in a month has, by definition, already done the thing a late arrival would be hoping for. The stamp is not a prediction that the price falls. It is the board saying that the data on its own does not make the case for stepping in here.

Charlotte Smoothie's CS 26-27 Event Pack Finalist promo (P-090) is the week's most extreme print, up roughly 38 times on the week to about A$26.86. It has only 4 sales in 30 days and no 30-day history to compare against, so the move says more about a thin market and a very low starting point than about a trend. It sits at HOLD.
Monkey.D.Luffy OP05-119 is moving in two printings at once. The original Awakening of the New Era copy is up about 90% on the week and 136% on the month to roughly A$31.43, while the One Piece Card The Best reprint is up about 91% on the week and 123% on the month near A$29.59. Both have deep liquidity (695 and 414 sales in 30 days) and both are HOLD. When two printings of the same card number climb in near lockstep, the demand is probably about the card itself rather than one listing.
Mr.2.Bon.Kurei (Bentham) in the OP16-055 alt art is up about 70% on the week and 125% on the month to roughly A$16.10, with 772 sales behind it. Another large mover that the board is content to watch.
Marco, the Anime 25th Collection SP from OP08-002, is the one gainer that carries an ACCUMULATE stamp. It is up about 45% on the week and 60% on the month to around A$2,149. A caution is worth stating plainly: liquidity is graded C and there was a single recorded sale in the last 30 days, so a price like this is a snapshot of a very thin market, not a deep one.
What we're watching
Two scheduled events sit close to this board. The Banned and Restricted list update lands on October 12, with Mihawk OP14-020 listed as banned, and the Elbaf Arc Part 2 finale airs on October 10. Past those, EB-05 arrives on October 30 and OP-18 follows on November 20, with its pre-release week starting November 13.
We will be watching whether the Luffy OP05-119 pair keeps moving together, whether Shakuyaku holds its new level once the weekly spike rolls out of the window, and whether Marco prints a second sale to confirm the price. Fast does not always mean safe, and today the board is only nodding at one of these cards.
