A Gold DON Card Doubles in a Month, and the Board Stays Calm
A Luffy and Loki gold DON from OP17 is up 75.1% in 30 days, yet the Ledger still says HOLD. Plus four more weekly movers, and why thin markets need a second look.
Nobody expects a DON card to be the day's biggest story, but here we are.
The Luffy and Loki Alternate Art Gold DON from OP17 is up 59.4% this week and 75.1% over the last month, now about A$51.80. It has also had real trading behind it, with 736 sales in the past 30 days and an A liquidity rating. And the board still reads it as HOLD. That is a pattern collectors keep running into this season: a chart that looks like a rocket launch, and a system that refuses to chase it. The overheating check exists for exactly this kind of move. Prices that run this far this fast tend to need time before they are worth adding to, even when the trend is real.
Today's top moves
Crocodile's Online Regional 2023 Finalist printing jumped 58.6%. The figure is identical across the 7 day and 30 day windows, which tells us the whole move happened inside a single week. It now sits at about A$229 and is a HOLD.
Otama's Online Regional 2023 Finalist card climbed a similar 48.4% and did earn an ACCUMULATE stamp, at about A$184. Two nearly identical weekly spikes landing in different places is a good reminder that the stamp reads the shape of the move, not just its size.
One caution applies to both of these finalist promos. Each carries a C liquidity rating with no recorded sales in the last 30 days. A big percentage on a card that rarely trades can come down to a single sale, so it is worth reading these two as a thin-market signal rather than a broad shift in demand.
Charlotte Flampe spiked 45.8% this week but is still down 22.3% over the month, now about A$70.69 and marked HOLD. A hot week does not always erase a rough month, and with 106 sales in 30 days this one has a reasonably deep market behind the move.
Kalifa's alt art printing is up 32.0% this week against a near-flat 2.9% over 30 days. That looks like a fresh breakout rather than a continuation. It is priced around A$24.44 and sits at HOLD for now, with 93 sales in the last month.
The wider board
Across today's board, HOLD is the most common stamp by a wide margin, with 6,001 cards. SELL WATCH (722) still outnumbers every buy-leaning stamp combined: ACCUMULATE (541), REBOUND WATCH (66) and BUY SETUP (19) add up to 626. It is business as usual in a market that keeps rewarding patience over green candles.
What we're watching
Whether the gold DON holds its gains as the OP17 launch window recedes, since its liquidity makes it the cleanest test of the group. Whether the two finalist promos record any actual sales, which would tell us if their moves are real price discovery. And whether Flampe's 30 day slide resumes once the weekly spike fades. No major catalysts sit on today's radar, so for now it is the charts doing the talking.
