Buckin's 919% Monthly Run Just Added Another 41%, and the Board Still Won't Blink
A cheap OP08 promo is up nearly tenfold in a month and climbing again this week, but our system's overheating check keeps it parked on HOLD instead of chasing the spike.
If you wanted a lesson in how fast this market can move, look no further than Buckin. The OP08PRE promo is up 41.5% just this week and a jaw-dropping 919.1% over the past thirty days, now sitting at A$26.19. That's the kind of chart that makes collectors want to smash the buy button. Our board disagrees, and it's not being shy about it: Buckin stays on HOLD.
This is the overheating check doing its job. Cards can post enormous weekly and monthly gains and still get flagged HOLD rather than a buy signal, because the system is built to avoid chasing near-vertical spikes that have already run far from their prior floor. History backs the caution: SELL WATCH names have historically kept falling (a further median drop near 10.7% within a month), and dip buying into hot streaks has been a loser in this market over our 2.5 year backtest. Buckin might keep climbing. It also might not, and that's exactly the coin flip the board refuses to call.
Today's top moves
Crocodile's OP14-120 print jumped another 46.2% this week and is now up 288% over the month, at A$15.48, still parked on HOLD.
Marshall.D.Teach's Online Regional 2023 Finalist print climbed 27.6% this week to A$193.16 and is one of the rare names among today's biggest gainers actually carrying the ACCUMULATE tag.
Mamaragan's alt art from OP15 is up 20.5% this week and 32.5% over the month, at A$82.47, also holding ACCUMULATE status.
Trafalgar Law's OP05ANN print gained 28% this week to A$234.54, another big riser that the board is treating as HOLD rather than a chase.
Scratchmen Apoo's Online Regional 2024 Finalist print is quietly one of the biggest movers on the whole board, up 63.3% this week and 98.3% over the month to A$280.89, and it still can't shake HOLD either. Five names, five hot charts, and not one of them gets waved through without the board asking hard questions first.
What we're watching
The calendar isn't as quiet as it looks. Treasure Cup Gatineau runs September 27, and Store Tournament 2026 Vol. 4 opens October 1, both feeding fresh prize and participation promos into a market that's already stuffed with red-hot promo prints like Buckin and Marshall.D.Teach's finalist card. New supply landing on top of parabolic charts is exactly the setup that's burned buyers before, so we're watching whether any of today's five gainers can hold their gains once a new batch of tournament promos starts trading.
