Luffy OP05-119 Doubles in a Week, and the Board Steps Back
OP05-119 Luffy is up 112.3% on the week to A$29.61, and the Ledger moved it from Accumulate to Hold in a single day. Here is why a big move can still mean wait.
If you have an OP05-119 Luffy in a binder, this week has been a good one. The base print sits at A$29.61 today, up 112.3% over seven days and 116.3% over thirty. Yesterday the Ledger had it at Accumulate with a price near A$16.64. Today the same card carries a Hold stamp, and the reasoning is worth unpacking, because it says a lot about how the board thinks.
This is not a glitch. Our testing found that entries after a spike this steep, in this price band, were closer to a coin flip historically, with a negative median return. The Ledger's own wording is that the easy part of the move has probably already happened. Nothing about the card itself has changed: it is a liquidity A card with 845 sales in the last 30 days, so this is a real, well-traded market repricing and not a thin one. The stamp changed because the shape of the chart changed. A climb that was inside the tested range yesterday went vertical overnight, and the board does not hand out a buy stamp while a card burns this hot. If it cools back into the qualified range, the buy stamp can return.
Today's other big movers
Withdraw Now and Allow Me to Save Face (OP17-036, the release event print) is up 58.9% this week and 170.5% on the month, now A$15.32. It is liquidity A with 153 sales in 30 days and sits at Hold.
Crocodile, the Online Regional 2023 Finalist print, is up 58.6% to A$229.86. Liquidity is C and there are no recorded sales in our window, which is part of why the board stays at Hold. A price in a thin market is a quote, not a deal.
Emporio.Ivankov from the OP05 anniversary set rose 56.2% to A$69.33, another liquidity C mover at Hold.
Otama, the Online Regional 2023 Finalist, is up 48.4% to A$184.60. It is one of the few names today that holds an Accumulate stamp, though at liquidity C it is the same kind of thin market, so read the number with that in mind.
Trafalgar Law ST10-010 is the slow burn of the group. The starter deck print is up 33.8% on the week and 248.2% over the month at A$16.36, while the PRB01 reprint is up 14.5% on the week and 256.7% on the month at A$13.52. Both are liquidity A with well over a thousand sales each in thirty days, and both are at Hold. Two printings of the same card number moving together for a month is the kind of pattern we want to keep measuring.
What we're watching
A few things. First, whether OP05-119 cools back into the range where the Ledger's buy pattern applies, or keeps climbing and stays on Hold. Second, whether the liquidity A movers (Luffy, Law, OP17-036) hold their gains on real volume, since that is the part of this list where the prices mean the most. Third, the Banned and Restricted list update taking effect on October 12, which can reshuffle demand across leaders. And fourth, the Elbaf arc finale on October 10, a date we track because arc finales have historically coincided with short bursts of interest in early-set cards. None of this is advice, just the data as it stands, and a reminder that a spike and a signal are not the same thing.
