OP-17 Lands Friday. Our Tape Says the Top Usually Arrives First.

The 4th anniversary box is up 20% through presale to A$547. The last three One Piece sets all peaked before release day, and one of them cost peak buyers more than half their money in four weeks.

The World's Strongest Warriors reaches English shelves this Friday, 28 August. It is the 4th anniversary set, it has a Treasure Rare that is not a reprint, four Manga Rares, the first Manga-style Luffy Leader, and a new Pirate Crew rarity nobody has pulled yet. The hype is real and mostly deserved.

We have been recording OP-17 presale prices since 7 July. Here is what the tape says, and what it said about the last three sets at exactly this point in their cycle.

All figures are from the board as of 25 August, converted to AUD at 1.3963 to the US dollar.

What presale has done

The World's Strongest Warriors Booster Box

The World's Strongest Warriors Booster Box

OP17

$334.39

The booster box opened our tape at A$455 in early July. It sits at A$547 today, up 20% across seven weeks of presale, with three days still to go.

Double Pack Set Vol. 12

Double Pack Set Vol. 12

OP17

$36.66

The Double Pack Set Vol. 12 has run harder, A$63 to A$103, up 64% since 9 July. Sealed OP-17 is the strongest presale we have recorded for this game.

The chase board is already priced like the set is out. The Super Leader Alternate Art Luffy has a single presale listing at A$3,491. The Treasure Rare Edward.Newgate carries a A$237 market price before a single pack has been cracked, and the Yamato SP reprint from OP-16 that hides in these packs is at A$684. Even the DON!! cards are not spared: the electric blue Rocks DON, the only one of its kind, is at A$101.

What the last three sets did from here

This is the part worth sitting with. We hold the full daily history for OP-14, OP-15, and OP-16 booster boxes, so we can measure the same window each time: presale peak, release day, four weeks after, eight weeks after.

OP-16 The Time of Battle peaked at A$556 during presale. On release day it was A$324. Four weeks later it was A$248, a 55% drawdown from the peak. It took until week eight just to claw back to A$292.

OP-15 Adventure on Kami's Island peaked at A$412 in presale, released at A$315, and sat at A$287 four weeks later. Peak buyers were down 30%.

OP-14 The Azure Sea's Seven never had the same presale froth, but the direction held: A$377 at release, A$329 four weeks later, A$303 at eight weeks.

Three sets, one shape. The most expensive day to buy a One Piece booster box has consistently been before you could legally open it.

What we do not know

OP-17 is not a normal set, and honesty requires saying so. Anniversary sets carry deeper chase ladders, and this one has more first-time rarities than any English release before it. If the Pirate Crew Super Alt Arts or the Manga Luffy Leader pull at brutal rates, sealed demand could hold in a way OP-15 and OP-16 did not. Nobody has pull-rate data yet, including us.

What we can say is that the pattern has been remarkably consistent, and that a box at A$547 today needs this set to break a three-set streak to justify the entry.

The whole set is on the board

Every OP-17 product is live on Grand Line Ledger: 183 items including all the presale singles, the sealed lineup, the special DON!! cards, and the release event promos. Daily prices have been recording since July, so when the launch spike and whatever follows it play out, the full history will be on every card page.
