The Board Picks Otama's Quiet 48% Over Smoker's Loud 68%
Four cards posted bigger weekly gains than Otama, yet all four sit on HOLD while Otama alone carries ACCUMULATE. Here is how to read that gap.
Here is today's puzzle on the board. Four cards posted bigger weekly gains than Otama (Online Regional 2023) [Finalist], and every one of them is still stamped HOLD. Otama, up a comparatively modest 48.4% this week to A$184.60, is the one carrying ACCUMULATE.
That is not a glitch. The stamp is built to ask a different question from the percentage on the screen: has this card already gone vertical, or is there still room below its recent highs? A big green number answers the first half of that. It does not answer the second. So a card can be the loudest name on the board and still get a patient, neutral HOLD.
The loud movers
Withdraw Now and Allow Me to Save Face is the biggest percentage mover of the group, up 94.0% on the week and 161.2% over 30 days to A$15.32. It trades with A-tier liquidity and 174 sales in the last 30 days, so this is a genuine, well-traded run rather than a single odd sale. Still HOLD.
Smoker, the OP10 alt art, is up 68.0% on the week and 141.1% over the month to A$55.50. Also A-tier, with 267 sales in 30 days. Also HOLD.
Crocodile (Online Regional 2023) [Finalist] is up 58.6% to A$229.86, and its 30-day move is identical to its weekly one. That usually means the card has been quiet for a while and the whole move landed in a few days. Liquidity is C-tier, so a handful of sales can swing the price.
Emporio.Ivankov (OP05 anniversary print) is up 56.2% on the week and 54.2% over the month to A$69.33, a steadier climb on B-tier liquidity.
Why Otama gets the nod
Otama's chart has the same shape as Crocodile's: a fresh jump on thin trading, with the 30-day and 7-day figures matching at 48.4%. The difference is where it sits against its own recent range, and the system reads that as more room than the others have left. That is a description of the data, not a promise. A C-tier card can reverse as quickly as it rose, and a single sale can move it either way.
The more useful habit for collectors is to treat the weekly percentage as the headline and the stamp, liquidity tier and sales count as the fine print. Two cards with the same gain can mean very different things depending on whether 267 people or a handful traded them.
What we're watching
Whether Smoker and Withdraw Now hold their gains once the first rush of buyers has passed, since both have the sales volume to make the price meaningful. Whether Otama and Crocodile see more completed sales, which would turn a thin-market jump into something we can actually trust. And whether any of the HOLD names cool off enough to change stamp over the coming days. We will report back as the data moves.
