A Split Board: OP14 Alt Arts Surge While Tournament Promos Get Dumped
Crocodile's OP14 alt art has more than doubled in a week while a cluster of 2023 tournament promos has lost half its value or more. Here is what the Ledger's numbers say about both sides.
Two very different markets are trading under the same roof today. On one side, a handful of OP14, PRB02 and OP10 alt arts are climbing fast on what looks like fresh collector demand. On the other, a cluster of tournament promos is being sold into hard, with some down more than half their price in a single week. Same game, opposite moods.
The headline mover is Crocodile's OP14-120 alt art, now A$22.14 after a 117% climb this week and roughly 129% over the month. It has moved on real volume too, with 2,267 sales recorded in the last 30 days. A chart like that tempts people to chase, yet the Ledger has it on HOLD. That is the overheating check doing its job: the system wants room to run below a prior peak, and it deliberately steps back from near vertical spikes. A big gainer can still be a watch and wait.
Today's top moves
Lucky.Roux from PRB02 is up 83.7% this week and 168.3% over 30 days to A$22.01, another steep climb that has earned a HOLD rather than a stronger stamp. It is also a liquid card, with 1,552 sales in the past 30 days.
Sugar's OP10 alt art rose 76.9% to A$45.22, extending a 109.5% monthly run. That monthly number suggests this is not a one-day blip, though it too sits on HOLD.
Shirahoshi's CS 26-27 Event Pack promo climbed 62.1% to A$89.29, part of a broader bid for recent event pack exclusives.
The standout is Monkey.D.Luffy from the CS 2023 Event Pack, up 45.3% this week to A$2,315.20 with an ACCUMULATE stamp rather than a HOLD. One honest caveat: only two sales were recorded in the last 30 days, so this is a thin market where a single sale can move the headline price. Read the stamp with that in mind.
The other side of the board
Koby from the Treasure Cup has fallen to US$230.61 (about A$333.69), down 61.6% on the week and stamped SELL WATCH, though with just four sales in 30 days the price is not very well anchored. Trafalgar Law's Offline Regional 2023 Finalist card dropped 52.3% to A$26.86, and Jozu's Championship 2023 promo fell 51.9% to A$230.78. Three different cards, three different events, one shared pattern: tournament exclusives are being offloaded hard right now.
Historically, SELL WATCH stamps have averaged a further 6.1% decline over the following four weeks in our backtest. That is an average across thousands of signals, not a prediction for any single card, but it is worth remembering before trying to catch a falling knife.
What we're watching
The calendar has two catalysts worth keeping in view. EB-05 releases on October 30, and OP-18 arrives with its release event week on November 13 and street date on November 20. Pre-release weeks have tended to soften prior-set singles, so we will see whether Crocodile, Lucky.Roux and Sugar hold their gains into that window, and whether the tournament promo selloff stabilises or keeps running. As always, this is what the data shows, not a call to act.
