King's Coronation, Hancock's Ascension: The Ledger for July 15
A wave of ACCUMULATE stamps swept through Boa Hancock's entire print run this week while King quietly became the set's most explosive riser, up over 100% in seven days.
Market Pulse
Something shifted underneath the market this week, and the totals tell the story better than any single card. On July 13th, we were sitting at 608 cards on SELL_WATCH against just 466 on ACCUMULATE — a defensive, wait-it-out market. By July 15th, SELL_WATCH had shrunk to 476 while ACCUMULATE climbed to 669. That's not noise. That's roughly 130 cards flipping from "get out" to "get in" territory in 48 hours, and it lines up with a broader green stretch across alt arts and SPs from EB02, OP14, and the PRB02 reprint line.
HOLD remains king of the totals (2,263 cards this week), which is the reminder every collector needs: most of the market just sits there. But the delta between the extremes is where the story lives.
This Week's Breakout Stars
Nothing moved like King did. The OP14 alt art (EB04-031) is up 108.24% in seven days and a staggering 429.62% over 30 days, now trading in the mid-A$40s. That's the kind of chart that makes you check the card twice — this isn't a reprint bump, it's sustained, structural demand building over a month.
Right behind it, the EB02 alt art of Monkey D. Luffy (OP05-060) added another 88.22% this week and now commands A$3,966.66 — squarely in "know your insurance policy" territory for anyone holding a copy.
Kyros (EB01-040 SP) isn't far off, up 81.27% to A$333.71, while Otama's OP07 alt art climbed 76.77% to A$14.76 — proof the momentum isn't confined to chase-tier cards. Smaller pieces are riding the same wave.
The Boa Hancock Effect
If there's a single collector storyline this week, it's Boa Hancock. Across nearly every printing — OP01-078, PRB02-017, PRB01's ST03-013, and the EB03-026 SP — the stamp flipped from HOLD to ACCUMULATE within days of each other. The EB03 SP alone is up 4.28% on the week and sitting at A$1,924.23, but it's the breadth of the move across her prints that stands out. When a character's entire catalog gets re-rated at once, that's usually collector attention, not a single-card fluke.
Nami's OP15-086 print told an even sharper story: SELL_WATCH on the 14th, ACCUMULATE by the 15th, with the price sitting at A$270.57. That's a full-stamp reversal in one cycle — worth watching to see if it holds or was a blip.
The Sell Watch List
Not everything is green. OP01-024 Monkey.D.Luffy flipped from HOLD to SELL_WATCH this week and is down 23.36% to A$5.97 — the single biggest loser in the dataset. Our backtest context is blunt about what usually happens next: SELL_WATCH cards have historically fallen a further median 10.7% within four weeks. That's not a reason to panic-sell into a low, but it's a reason not to average down here.
Tony Tony.Chopper's Jolly Roger Foil (-21.03%), Charlotte Linlin OP08-069 (-16.63%), and We Are! EB02-020 (-16.14%) round out a losers list that's heavy on OP08 and early EB-series product — sets that have cooled as attention rotates toward newer alt arts.
Perona's OP12-034 print offers the flip side of that coin: HOLD to ACCUMULATE, up 41.36% to A$8.92, a reminder that budget-tier alt arts can move just as sharply as the chase cards when a stamp flips.
What we're watching next week
We want to see whether the ACCUMULATE surge holds past 669 or whether it was a two-day overcorrection off a SELL_WATCH-heavy market. King's 30-day chart is the one to track for confirmation of real momentum versus a short squeeze, and we're keeping an eye on whether the rest of the Boa Hancock line follows EB03-026 higher. On the downside, OP01-024 Luffy is our top candidate to test the backtest's median 10.7% further-decline pattern — worth checking back on before making any moves there.
