A Five-Figure Uta Keeps Climbing, and the System Still Won't Chase It
A Treasure Cup Uta cracks A$12,800 with a 51% weekly pop, but the discipline that's kept the sell list honest all year says hold, not buy.
Some cards move percentages. This one moved a whole decimal place. The serial numbered Uta from the 2025 Treasure Cup line is now sitting at A$12,843.37 after a 51.1% run this week, the kind of number that makes you double check you're reading AUD and not a typo.
And yet: HOLD. Not accumulate, not some special flag saying chase this. When a card is already this far above any reasonable notion of a floor, our system's overheating check does its job and just watches. That's the same discipline that's kept us out of chasing spikes all year, whether the sticker price is A$5 or five figures.
Today's top moves
Uta (Treasure Cup 2025) leads at A$12,843.37, up 51.1% this week, parked on HOLD despite the fireworks.
Monkey.D.Luffy from OP07PRE nearly doubled again, up 116% and still just HOLD at A$99.02, the buy criteria unmoved by the noise.
Donquixote Doflamingo (OP05ANN) is up 105.7% on the week and 123.2% over the month, now A$69.70, another case of a card running hot enough to sit outside our buy zone entirely.
The real story for value hunters might be Roronoa Zoro from the Championship 25-26 Regionals Season 1 promo, up 25% this week and 33.9% over the month to A$7,136, and it's carrying an ACCUMULATE flag. Our backtesting shows accumulate stamped cards have historically been higher eight weeks later about three times out of four, with typical gains in the mid teens percent, so a high conviction flag on a card this expensive is worth a second look.
Charlotte Pudding (PRB02-010) flipped from sell watch to hold this week after a 64.8% weekly climb and a wild 293.4% over the month, now sitting at A$41.55. That kind of stamp change usually means the selling pressure that had us worried has eased off, at least for now.
Collectors chasing green weeks and ignoring the flags is exactly the pattern our data keeps warning against. Dip buying and momentum chasing have both been historically weak plays in this market, and today's board is a good reminder why the stamp matters more than the sparkline.
Stay disciplined out there, the market rewards patience more than it rewards excitement.
