Lucky.Roux Jumps 72% in a Week, and the Board Still Says Hold
A PRB02 promo is up 72% on the week and 276% on the month, yet the Ledger keeps it on Hold. Here is why the loudest chart is not the loudest signal.
Lucky.Roux is having the kind of week that makes collectors check their binders twice. The PRB02 promo is up 72.1% over the past seven days and 276.3% over the past month, and it now sits at A$32.25. By raw percentage it is the loudest chart on the board today. And yet the stamp reads Hold, not Accumulate.
That is not a glitch. The Ledger builds in an overheating check: a card that goes near-vertical gets flagged as hot, but a fast move on its own does not earn a favourable stamp. The board would rather wait and see whether a price settles than react to the steepest line on the screen. Lucky.Roux is a clean example of a card that is clearly moving but has not met the criteria for anything beyond Hold.
Today's top movers
Lucky.Roux (PRB02-003) sits at A$32.25 with 1,476 sales recorded in the last 30 days. That is a deep, liquid market, so the move is real trading rather than a thin print.
Buggy (Event Pack Vol. 8) is up 35.0% this week and 67.0% over 30 days, at A$16.43, with 680 sales in 30 days. Stamp: Hold.
Ulti (Event Pack Vol. 6) is up 34.8% on the week and 293.1% on the month, at A$16.23, with 544 sales in 30 days. Stamp: Hold.
Tony Tony.Chopper (EB02 SP) is the big-ticket mover, up 33.2% weekly and 63.8% monthly at around A$9,734. It carries an Accumulate stamp, but only 4 sales were recorded in 30 days, so treat the price as a thin-market read.
Charlotte Chiffon (Online Regional 2023 Finalist) is up 29.7% this week, which matches its 30-day gain exactly, at about A$94. Stamp: Accumulate, with just 2 sales in 30 days.
The shape of the board
Look at how today's stamps split. The cheap, liquid event promos (Lucky.Roux, Buggy, Ulti) are all Hold despite eye-catching percentages. The Accumulate stamps are on Chopper and Chiffon, two pricier cards that trade only a handful of times a month. That is worth reading carefully rather than taking at face value. A percentage on a card with 2 or 4 sales behind it can be a single transaction, while a percentage on a card with over 1,000 sales reflects a crowd.
Neither group is a recommendation. The point is that the label and the percentage are measuring different things, and the gap between them is often where the useful story sits.
What we're watching
Whether Lucky.Roux holds its new level once the week's spike has had time to cool, or gives some of it back. Whether Buggy and Ulti, both still climbing, follow the same pattern as other fast event-promo movers. And whether Chopper and Chiffon see more than a handful of sales, because more volume would tell us far more about those prices than the percentages alone do.
