OP-17 puts four alt-art DON!! cards in packs. Here is where the promo tier stands going in.

For four years the DON!! card has been the One Piece TCG's souvenir. You did not open one out of a booster box. You earned it at a store tournament, or you bought the double pack set it came bundled with, or you paid up for an anniversary pack. That scarcity is priced in, and it shows clearly in our own numbers.

OP-17 The World's Strongest Warriors changes the arrangement. TCGplayer's product feed for the set lists four alternate-art DON!! cards: a base alt art plus Luffy and Loki, Rocks, and The Four Emperors. Pre-release events begin tomorrow, 21 August, with the Japanese street date on 22 August and the English wide release on 28 August. For the first time, DON!! chase cards will be something you can pull.

So before the supply lands, it is worth writing down where the tier actually sits.

The promo premium, measured

We have current prices on 54 DON!! products outside the Red Bull promos. Split them in two and the gap is stark. The 20 promo-only products, meaning the anniversary packs, tournament prizes and Special DON!! sets, carry a median price of USD 25.53, about AUD 36.00 at yesterday's rate of 1.4099. The 34 DON!! cards that shipped bundled with a set or double pack carry a median of USD 4.33, about AUD 6.11.

That is close to a six-times spread, and it is not one outlier dragging the average. [[card:4a7610af-d41a-400e-b7e3-4ade75ab7a2b]] sits at USD 46.04 (AUD 64.91). The CS 2023 Celebration Pack DON!! is USD 43.64 (AUD 61.53). Special DON!! Set Vol. 1 -Luffy- is USD 53.23 (AUD 75.05), and the sealed Vol. 1-3 three-pack is USD 147.31 (AUD 207.70), carrying an ACCUMULATE stamp and 30-day momentum of plus 12.2 percent.

At the very top, [[card:518653db-d01a-406b-a5da-47b899fe30d0]] is USD 635.10 (AUD 895.44), with the Winner variant at USD 8,898.99 (AUD 12,546.89). Those are event-distribution cards. Nothing about an OP-17 booster resembles them.

Where the bundled DON!!s already sit

The other half of the picture is the group OP-17's alt arts will actually resemble in supply. Bundled DON!!s move real volume on thin prices. Across those 34 products the average 30-day sold count is 197, against 100 for the promo-only group, and the average 30-day price change is minus 1.5 percent. [[card:af65adf8-0a9c-4b2b-b55a-d3f902972076]] logged 1,552 sales in 30 days at USD 5.24 (AUD 7.39).

Volume like that is what a pack-pullable DON!! looks like once it settles. The exception is worth noting too: the Katakuri DON!! from Double Pack Set Vol. 7 is up 45.4 percent over 30 days at USD 5.64 (AUD 7.95). Character pull can still lift a common DON!!. It just does it from a low base.

The open question

Two things could happen with the OP-17 four, and our data does not yet say which. Real pack supply could pull the whole DON!! conversation down toward the bundled median, in which case the anniversary and tournament promos keep their premium precisely because they keep their scarcity. Or an in-set chase like The Four Emperors DON!! could become the sleeper of a fourth-anniversary set, priced on art and Yonko demand rather than on distribution.

We do not have prices on the OP-17 DON!! cards yet. They are in TCGplayer's catalogue but not in our series, and they will not carry meaningful sold data until pre-release stock clears in the last week of August. Any number you see quoted on them this week is a pre-order ask, not a sale.

What we're watching

First sold comps on the four OP-17 DON!! alt arts once pre-release singles reach the market from 21 August, and whether The Four Emperors version separates from the other three. Whether the promo-only median holds its roughly six-times premium through September or compresses as attention shifts to in-set DON!!s. And 30-day momentum on the anniversary packs, which is where the scarcity story will show strain first, if it shows at all.
