Two Cards Nearly Doubled This Week, and Neither One Gets a Buy Signal
Jinbe and an alt-art Sabo both ripped 87%+ in seven days, but our system's overheating check is keeping both parked on HOLD.
The chart of the day belongs to Jinbe.
This OP05ANN single sits at A$37.33 after climbing 88.4% in seven days and 104.4% over the month, essentially doubling in four weeks. That is a real, sustained move, not a one-hour spike. And yet the card carries a HOLD stamp. That is not a glitch. Our system runs what we call an overheating check on cheaper cards: it wants room to run below a prior peak before it will flag something as a buy, and it deliberately excludes near-vertical spikes even when the fundamentals look fine. A card can be the single biggest winner on the board and still get told to sit tight, because chasing a candle like this has historically been a losing game in this market.
Jinbe was not alone.
Today's top moves
The OP13 alt-art Sabo is up 87% this week and 140.6% over 30 days to A$50.45, matching Jinbe move for move, and still parked on HOLD for the same overheating reason.
OP16 alt-art Marco climbed 42% this week to A$20.18, now up 66.6% on the month, quietly building one of the steadier long runs on this list.
The Round 1 Promo Sanji added 36.5% this week to reach A$71.60, a sharp pop for a card that did not have 30-day history to compare against.
Online Regional Participation Pack 2024 Vol. 3 is the rare exception here, up 30.8% and actually carrying an ACCUMULATE stamp at A$240.25, which tells you its climb still has room relative to where it has traded before.
Behind the scenes, the daily reports show sell pressure spreading wide rather than deep: SELL_WATCH count ticked up to 762 today from 733 yesterday, with a long tail of promo-era singles like the Event Pack Vol. 9 Nico Robin and Trafalgar Law slipping another quarter or more off their highs. Meanwhile a wave of yesterday's SELL_WATCH names, including Cavendish, Usopp, and Vinsmoke Sanji, rotated back to HOLD, a reminder that these labels move both directions fast.
Our backtest context is worth repeating here: ACCUMULATE-stamped cards have historically been higher eight weeks later about three times out of four, while SELL_WATCH names have tended to keep sliding, a median 10.7% further over the next month. None of that is a promise, just the pattern our system has leaned on.
Big green candles are fun to look at. Whether they are safe to buy is a different question entirely.
